TEMPORARY ORDER 2020
THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
To allow a programme of carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to restrict traffic on various roads in Kent, as shown below.
The Order will become effective on or after 01st April 2020 for up to 18 months, or until the works have been completed.
The anticipated times and duration for each road closure or restriction are indicated below, in a Schedule listed in alphabetical order of each District.
Planned dates will be indicated by signage displayed on site 30 days in advance. Road closures and other restrictions will be in effect when the appropriate signage and barriers are in place.
This programme is subject to funding, weather and other factors and may therefore change; every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the programmed dates and duration. Changes will be notified locally and signposted on site.
These works are part of a countywide resurfacing works programme.
SCHEDULE GRAVESEND
RESURFACING
Old Road West, Gravesend.
Works starting 29th June 2020 for approximately 7 nights Including weekends, working hours between 19:30 and 06:00.
The above road will be closed between Singlewell Road and Pelham Road.
Alternative route westbound via – Windmill St, A226 Woodville Place, A227 Wrotham Road, Rathmore Road and Pelham Road.
Alternative route eastbound via – Pelham Road, Darnley Road, Bath Street, West Street, Crooked Lane, The Terrace, Harmer Street, Milton Road, Lord Street and Windmill Street.
Pelham Road, Gravesend.
Works starting 05th June 2020 for approximately 3 nights (excluding weekends), working hours between 20:00 and 06:00.
The above road will be closed between Old Road West and Darnley Road.
Alternative route via – Darnley Road, Old Road West, Pelham Road and vice versa
Singlewell Road, Gravesend.
Works starting 03rd June 2020 for approximately 2 nights, working hours between 19:30 and 06:00.
The above road will be closed between Kings Drive and The Fairway.
Alternative route via – Singlewell Road, Hever Court Road, Valley Drive, Old Road East, Singlewell Road and vice versa.
A226 Gravesend Road, Shorne.
Works starting 27th July 2020 for approximately 10 nights, working hours between 20:00 and 06:00.
The above road will be closed between Peartree Lane and Forge lane.
Alternative route via – A226 Gravesend Road, A289 Hasted Road, A2 Watling Street, Valley Drive, B261 Old Road East, A226 Rochester Road and Vice Versa.
Singlewell Road, Gravesend.
Works starting 20th April 2020, 24/7 Closure for approximately 6 weeks.
The above road will be closed between Old Road West and Cross Lane West.
Alternative route via – Cross Lane West, A227 Wrotham Road, Old Road West and Vice Versa.
A227 Wrotham Road, Gravesend.
Works starting 20th July 2020, 24/7 closure for approximately 8 Weeks.
The above road will be closed between Cross Lane West and Old Road West.
Alternative route via – A227 Wrotham Road, Coldharbour Road, Perry Street, Pelham Road South, Old Road West And Vice Versa.
Sole Street, Cobham.
Works starting 10th Aug 2020, for approximately 16 nights excluding weekends, working hours between 20:00 and 06:00.
The above road will be closed between Jeskyns Road and Camer street.
Alternative route via – Camer Road, Green Lane, A227 Wrotham Road, A2 Eastbound, Henhurst Road, Jeskyns Road and Vice versa.
A289 Hasted Road, Higham.
Works starting 05th Aug 2020, for approximately 3 nights excluding weekends, working hours between 20:00 and 06:00.
The above road will be closed between A226 Gravesend road and A2 Watling Street.
During these essential works it will also be necessary to close the A2 London Bound entry slip from Strood.
Alternative route from A289 Via – A226 Gravesend Road, A226 Rochester Road, Old Road East, Valley Drive, A2 east bound.
Alternative route from A2 London Bound Slip via – A2 Eastbound, B2018 Rede Court Road, A226 Gravesend Road and onto the above diversion.
