Kent County Council’s ‘Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) Consultation’ launches today, Thursday 6 September 2018.

This consultation will help us deliver the Kent Waste Disposal Strategy and seeks views on the proposal to implement a charging policy for non-household waste materials including soil, rubble, hardcore and plasterboard, deposited at Kent HWRCs.

The 8 week consultation is available until Thursday 1 November 2018, and we would like to invite you to comment.

The consultation questionnaire and supporting documents can be found at www.kent.gov.uk/wasteconsultation

Your views are important to us and we look forward to receiving your comments.

The consultation runs from 6 September to 1 November 2018. www.kent.gov.uk/wasteconsultation

Keep the existing booking system.. As it saves us to wait a long time on many occasions to unload our rubbish.

If it ain't broke...

There is little doubt that fly tipping has been exacerbated by the new booking system. Anyone that uses the tip would have known when the busy times were and when it was quiet. Moreover, if KCC were to advertise footfall statistics, then one could plan when it was quieter. So NO remove the booking system as I much prefer going when I want to and more importantly needed to go. The booking system does not work for me and many. But thank you for making us safe during these difficult times, but can we now go back to how it was.

Please remove the booking system. It is totally unnecessary and probably illegal. I have waited longer with the booking system than without.

I don't believe that the authorities have lisend to use. This is the wrong decision. Scrap the booking system, bring back the old system it's much better for most people to just load & go. So you might have to wait for a bit, so what it's still a better system than having to book in advance. Especially when you work all day & the household waste sites are closed when you finish work. Maybe the sites should be open 24hours a day so everyone can use them? Fly tipping is on tje rise & this is partly due to having to book to use the sites & partly because you now charge for certain items, the sites should be free to use for everyone after all thats what the council tax is for. It must cost more to clean up fly tipping than it does to keep the household waste sites free to use. Charging just isn't right. No booking & free to use thats what the household waste sites should be.
