Cobham Second World War anti-aircraft battery: a request for information

Can you help please?

Following some earlier research into aspects of Cobham's past I am now studying the history of the Second World War anti-aircraft battery in Lodge Lane.  I have begun research at the National Archives where some interesting information has started to emerge but I should be very grateful to receive memories of the site during or after the war, whether first-hand ones or passed down.  A battle report I have seen describes how on one occasion the guns of the battery fired  over 90 shells at formations of bombers.  That must have made quite a lot of noise to be heard by people living at Cobham.  The gunners must have visited the village socially from time to time, perhaps to drink at the pubs.  I do not yet know whether the battery lasted in use until the end of the war although I believe that its barracks were used for a time after 1945 to house the homeless.  At the end of my research the results will be shared with the community.

Thank you,
