Magnificent Churches

St Mary Magdalene Church - Another major attraction is the 13th century church with its magnificent collection of brasses, some more than  600 years old. Close to the church is Cobham College. Originally established as a college for priests it now provides sheltered accommodation for elderly parishioners as it has done for 400 years.
St Margaret, Ifield - St Margaret's is very old (Saxon origins, with the first vicar on the board listed as starting work in 1227, very small (seating around 60) and very picturesque (the locals call it 'the Little House on the Prairie Church').

National Trust Properties

Owletts - formerly owned and given to the trust by the renowned architect Sir Herbert Baker, this delightful Charles II house is an extraordinary example of a Kent country home. Owletts and its gardens have many treasures, especially from when it was home to its most famous owner Sir Herbert Baker, whose architectural influences can still be found throughout the house.

The Mausoleum, a hidden gem of grandeur nestled in Cobham Woods has recently been acquired by the National Trust. The Mausoleum was designed by James Wyatt for the 4th Earl of Darnley in the 18th century.

Yeoman's House, Sole Street - A 15th-century yeoman’s house of timber construction. The property is occupied as a private residence and is administered and maintained on the National Trust's behalf by a tenant.

Beautiful Open Spaces

Ashenbank Woods - Ashenbank Wood is a fantastic place to visit, with so much of interest on offer within the wood and the surrounding area. Its 74 acre mix of ancient woodland and former wood pasture provides a range of habitats, closed canopy and open areas, veteran trees and notable wildlife species.

Jeskyns Country Park - Forestry Commission owned and  a favourite for families and dog walkers.  Boasting three children's play areas, picnic areas, ponds and a new cafe - an enjoyable day out for the whole family.

Cobham Hall - Cobham Hall has a long history, dating back to Roman times.  Ivo Bligh, the 8th Earl of Darnley was the first British cricket captain to be presented with the The Ashes in 1882. Ivo Bligh lived at Cobham Hall, which is now an independent day and boarding school for girls, set in beautiful grounds, where a number of public and private events are held throughout the year. Like many sizeable houses in the south-East, Cobham Hall was used as a military hospital during the First World War.
